Popular Songs For Mother - Son Dances
Tuesday, 02 February 2010 21:55
I am asked quite frequently to suggest appropriate songs for the wedding day. The most difficult song to choose for most newly-weds is surprisingly not the first dance or the bride and father dance. It is the groom-mother dance. No matter how many songs we go through there are 12 that seem to be the most requested:
- What A Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong
- Have I Told You Lately - Rod Stewart or Van Morrison
- Song For Mama - Boyz II Men
- My Wish - Rascal Flatts
- In My Life - The Beatles
- Through The Years - Kenny Rogers
- Unforgettable - Nat King Cole
- Because Yo Loved Me - Celine Dion
- The Way You Look Tonight - Frank Sinatra
- You Raise Me Up - Josh Groban
- Wind Beneath My Wings - Bette Midler
- You've Got A Friend - James Taylor
2009 Winter Wedding Festivals Show in Anderson
Sunday, 31 January 2010 09:53
The Wedding Festivals staff held true to their word "The Show Must Go On" for the January 30th Bridal Show, even though the weather did not cooperate. The show still had all of the class and style the Wedding Festivals group is known for providing. I believe we had between 150 and 200 brides visit the event. It was a pleasure to speak with so many brides and grooms, along with their mothers, families and best friends.
Lots of wonderful local vendors participated, including one of my favorite event facilities in South Carolina, Occasions At Wedgefield (http://www.occasionsatwedgefield.com). Occasions is located on Eighteen Mile Road, just off Highway 123 between Easley and Clemson. Andrew was there with his famous ice carved shrimp dispenser. Occasions has also opened a sister facility near Seneca called Palmetto Ridge.
At the close of the show, Wedding Festivals gave away a wonderful Carnival Cruise to a lucky bride-to-be. Carolina Party Professionals had two lucky winners in our booth give-away: Jessica Lane won some awesome dance lessons for 2 from Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Greenville (http://www.dancearthurmurray-sc.com/) and Stephanie Smith won a massage from Zen Bodywork in Simpsonville.
The mock wedding by Wedding Festivals was phenomenal, as usual. Their decor was complimented with uplighting by Better Tie Productions. Inspite of the ice outside the atmosphere was warm inside. From my perspective, all the vendors and brides had a great time. Carolina Party Professionals enjoyed meeting so many people as well as making a few new friends.
The New Mr & Mrs Hale

Jonathan Griffin Hale
&
Lorraine Chua
were married
Saturday September 26th, 2009
Carolina Party Professionals had the honor of providing sound reinforcement for their wedding keyboardist as well as a dj, master of ceremonies, music and entertainment for their reception. This classic wedding was held outside at the home of Mr. Hale's parents in Honea Path, SC.
Luckily, the bride & groom rented a tent, because the rain was relentless. Regardless of the rain, everyone had a fun evening. Before exiting, several people thanked George and told him what a wonderful time they had. The bride and groom said, "Twenty people told us this was the best wedding they had ever been to"! It was a true pleasure to work with this wonderful couple and their guests.
